Foster Paws Rescue brings over 20 years of experience rescuing and rehoming cats and kittens in Upstate South Carolina. We do not have a physical shelter, but instead rely upon a network of experienced foster homes who can give our cats the one on one attention they need.

Saving Cats and Dogs in Upstate SC

We believe that this one-on-one attention to each individual cat and kitten allows us to not only ensure that you are adopting a healthy cat, but also allows us to get to know each cat and kitten and to be able to help you select one with the appropriate personality for your lifestyle.

Where our cats come from:

Our cats and kittens are often pulled from the euthanasia floor of local shelters where they have run out of options and run out of time. As a result we are unable to accept owner surrenders and ask that you make every attempt possible to have your pet spayed or neutered and re-homed. If you are interested in adopting one of our cats or kittens into your life, please email, call, or drop by one of our adoption events. See our resource page for spay/ neuter locations and our Facebook for adoption events.

Mission Statement:

Foster Paws Rescue is a 501(c)3, not for profit, organization that promotes the inherent value of every animal and strives to educate the public about proper and responsible animal care, with a focus on saving the lives of the cats and kittens on the urgent kill list of local shelters. We are committed to finding every healthy and treatable animal a home and to helping lead the way to a no-kill nation.

Vision Statement:

Foster Paws Rescue’s vision is to bring a greater awareness of animal welfare issues to the general public. We envision a time when spay/neuter efforts and adoption programs will eliminate the euthanasia of companion animals.

About The Founders / Director:

Diana Riglet, Co-Founder & Director, brings a passionate approach to the No-Kill Equation by educating the public in alternatives to surrendering pets to shelters, including aggressive spay/ neuter and adoption programs. Diana works closely with the local shelters, placing animals when they have run out of time. She fosters various cats & kittens in her home, coordinates and attends adoption events, as well as directing the daily activities of Foster Paws Rescue.

Teresa Bryant, Co-Founder, born animal lover and having been owned by a variety of pets, has over 40 years experience in cat/dog care and behavior. She has a very special affection for cats and a tender heart for the companion animals that are being murdered for no other reason than ignorance. Teresa is passionate about the accountability of individuals and communities in implementing the No-Kill Equation. As a foster mom, Teresa has saved many lives that were once considered expendable.
